Sorter scheduling can be done using the facility's online instrument scheduler. When you attempt to schedule your appointment, please have the following information handy:
- Type of Cells being sorted (Eg. primary mouse splenocytes, adherent cell line that tends to aggregate in suspension)
- Number of samples to sort and number of cells/sample (This will allow us to estimate the amount of time needed)
- Fluorochromes used to stain the cells (For unique fluorochromes, please know the excitation and emission maxima)
- Bulk sort (into tubes) or plate sort/cloning (into 6-96well plates)
- Post-sort manipulation of cells (what will you be doing with the cells, culturing, extracting RNA, etc...)
Before scheduling your first sort, please familiarize yourself with the specifications of the instruments currently available in the facility as well as guidelines for optimal sorting.
